For the month of May we’re partnering with Food for Thought, a local organization on a mission to foster health and healing with food and compassion.
Food for Thought provides free weekly groceries, including fresh produce, nutritional supplements, and vitamins. Their services include nutrition counseling, healthy cooking classes, and an organic gardening project. In 2020, more than 4,000 people were served, including men, women, and dependent children of parents who live with HIV, COVID-19 and other serious illnesses.
The core philosophy of Food For Thought is that food is medicine. What we eat can have a profound effect on our health, and particularly for people struggling with conditions like diabetes and congestive heart failure, diet can mean the difference between failing health and hospitalizations and a comfortable and active life. Extensive research has proved that healthy food can reduce health care costs and improve health outcomes for patients.

Join our food drive before May 30! Simply drop a few groceries in our food bin located inside our shop.
Food for Thought is especially thankful for olive oil, peanut butter and crackers. They also appreciate hearty soup, canned tuna, salsa (non-perishable), spaghetti sauce, cereal (under 6 grams of sugar), mayonnaise, canned vegetables, canned fruits and whole wheat pasta.
